Transition Pieces

Transition pieces form the critical connection between the wind turbine and its foundation, bringing together structural, mechanical and operational requirements within one integrated design. Enersea has extensive experience in transition piece design, covering the engineering process from basic through to detailed design.

Our engineers address the primary steel structure as well as the integration of secondary steel, including platforms, ladders, boat landings and access systems. Particular attention is given to the interfaces between the foundation, transition piece and turbine, as well as requirements related to fabrication, transport and offshore installation. This integrated engineering approach results in practical and cost-effective transition piece designs in which constructability and efficient offshore installation are considered from an early stage.
