Enersea Engineers go Offshore to Improve Gas Compression Efficiency and Reduce Emissions
Enersea is supporting the replacement of a natural gas compressor on an existing North Sea gas production platform, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing revenue and extending the operational lifetime of the asset.
As part of the project, Enersea engineers travelled offshore to perform a detailed site assessment. During the visit, they evaluated available plot space, verified key dimensions, and identified technical constraints critical for the successful integration of new equipment.
Using insights from the offshore survey and in-depth engineering analysis, Enersea developed an optimised compressor solution. The proposed upgrade replaces an existing high-capacity unit with a significantly more efficient system, reducing energy consumption and emissions while maintaining required operational performance.
Enersea’s scope focuses on the concept select phase, including engineering design and the integration of vendor information for layout optimisation.
All offshore activities are carried out by fully certified Enersea engineers with the required offshore training, ensuring safe execution and reliable, real-world data for engineering decisions.
By combining practical offshore experience with multidisciplinary engineering expertise, Enersea supports operators in modernising assets, improving efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
