Lead Structural Engineer

Your role in the team

As a Lead Structural Engineer, you are part of the structural design team and work closely with engineers and designers from other disciplines. Depending on your experience, you lead projects or support project leads. You organise your own work, take responsibility for your deliverables and report to the Team Lead Structural Engineering.

Key responsibilities 

• Lead and contribute to the structural design of offshore structures such as platforms & foundations for offshore wind and hydrocarbons 

• Translate client requirements into a basis of design
  
• Define structural arrangements and select materials 

• Perform strength and fatigue analyses for in-place, transport and lifting conditions

• Prepare weight estimations and manage weight control during projects 

• Design appurtenances, cathodic protection, and temporary structures (grillages, seafastenings, rigging) 

• Deliver and check models, drawings and reports

• Ensure quality compliance using workflow software  

• Foster positive relationship with clients and colleagues across disciplines

Qualifications 

• Strong understanding of the offshore design environment incl. knowledge of offshore specifications, materials, and design rules 

• Experience with SACS, Ansys, RFEM and MathCAD 

• Experience with AutoCAD, Tekla and/or SolidWorks is a plus 

• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience 

• Good command of English; Dutch speaking or willing to learn Dutch 

Time & Location 

• 1 FTE 

• Schiedam office minimum 3 days per week/Hybrid working possibilities
